Dr. Sherry Zhao is the Founder and CEO of Kalino Bio, a Vancouver-based biotechnology company focusing on pet health. With a PhD in Chemistry and pharmaceutical development experience at Genentech, combined with a track record of building and scaling organizations, she brings a unique blend of scientific expertise and business acumen to the challenge of animal health innovation.

Before founding Kalino Bio, Sherry served as Regional Director at Mitacs, where she scaled business development teams and secured significant government contracts. She is currently advancing Kalino Bio through animal studies, backed by a successful oversubscribed founding round.

A proud UBC Young Alumni Award recipient, Sherry serves on the board of the Vancouver Entrepreneurs Forum and on the advisory committee at the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, and teaches AI applications as part-time faculty at Simon Fraser University. Originally from China and a graduate of Peking University, Sherry came to Canada for graduate studies at UBC and found her home in British Columbia — grateful for the opportunities the Vancouver ecosystem has given her and committed to giving back to it.
